Inside all conservatives lives a whiny ass little baby who can't take any kind of criticism.
Broken record time: There isn't a "liberal" media. Never has been, never will be. St. John is upset that his base, the national news media, is no longer in his hip pocket. Wah, wah, wah. Give the baby a bottle and SHTFU.

From the page: "The American-armed and trained Georgian army swarmed into South Ossetia last Thursday, killing an estimated 2,000 civilians, sending 40,000 South Ossetians fleeing over the Russian border, and destroying much of the capital, Tskhinvali. The attack was unprovoked and took place a full 24 hours before even ONE Russian soldier set foot in South Ossetia. Nevertheless, the vast majority of Americans still believe that the Russian army invaded Georgian territory first. The BBC, AP, NPR, the New York Times and the rest of the establishment media has consistently and deliberately misled its readers into believing that the violence in South Ossetia was initiated by the Kremlin. Let's be clear, it wasn't. In truth, there is NO dispute about the facts except among the people who rely the western press for their information. Despite its steady loss of credibility, the corporate media continues to operate as the propaganda-arm of the Pentagon.
Former Russian President Mikhail Gorbachev gave a good summary of events in an op-ed in Monday's Washington Post:
"For some time, relative calm was maintained in South Ossetia. The peacekeeping force composed of Russians, Georgians and Ossetians fulfilled its mission, and ordinary Ossetians and Georgians, who live close to each other, found at least some common ground....What happened on the night of Aug. 7 is beyond comprehension. The Georgian military attacked the South Ossetian capital of Tskhinvali with multiple rocket launchers designed to devastate large areas....Mounting a military assault against innocents was a reckless decision whose tragic consequences, for thousands of people of different nationalities, are now clear. The Georgian leadership could do this only with the perceived support and encouragement of a much more powerful force. Georgian armed forces were trained by hundreds of U.S. instructors, and its sophisticated military equipment was bought in a number of countries. This, coupled with the promise of NATO membership, emboldened Georgian leaders into thinking that they could get away with a "blitzkrieg" in South Ossetia...Russia had to respond. To accuse it of aggression against "small, defenseless Georgia" is not just hypocritical but shows a lack of humanity." ("A Path to Peace in the Caucasus", Mikhail Gorbachev, Washington Post)
The question for Americans is whether they trust Mikhail Gorbachev more than the corporate media?"

From the page: ""She's a bit of a fool that's the only thing you can say," said Rep. Neil Abercrombie. " Don't forget Cokie Roberts and the whole Washington crowd live in a kind of an incestuous relationship to one another, they talk to one another, they see one another, they know nothing about ordinary people.""
This holds true for every single Washington, D.C. political pundit and journalist. Your "liberal" media is one big echo chamber where they think they speak for regular Americans, whatever the hell that might be, but really they just reinforce their own beliefs about who Americans are and how they react.

Remember the anthrax attacks of 2001? Sure you do. ABC takes a look at what happened with the investigation. They kind of gloss over the fact that at the time they and every other network tried their hardest to link the attacks with Saddam Hussein, but no matter. Reality is what the Corporate Conservative Media says it is.
How much do you want to bet that it was carried out by some white separatist/white supremacist group or sympathizer? You can guarantee that if it was the "authorities" will drag their feet during the investigation and you won't hear a thing about it on your local news.

From the page: "In that same interview with Jon Stewart the previous night, CBS' Logan went on to further denounce American press coverage:
"Tell me the last time you saw the body of a dead American soldier. What does that look like? Who in American knows what that looks like? Because I know what that looks like, and I feel responsible for the fact that no one else does. ... And the soldiers do feel forgotten, they do. No doubt. From Afghanistan to Iraq, they absolutely feel -- you know, we may be tired of hearing about this five years later, they still have to go out and do the same job."
The very next night, her bosses chose to lead with a four-and-a-half minute story on an injured golf star.
Yesterday, the man in charge of CBS Evening News defended that decision without pause."
The Corporate Conservative Media feels that the news from Afghanistan, Iraq, and anywhere else that doesn't have a golf game with Tiger Woods playing in it is unimportant. Our Corporate Overlords don't want us to worry our precious little heads over the destruction our government has wrought not only on the people of Afghanistan and Iraq but also on the lives of the men and women serving in the U.S. military who are treated like nothing more than pawns in some global chess game for the rich.

From the page: "But the timing here really stinks. Is this just another low-grade tabloid scandal -- or a message to journalists who dare to criticize big corporate media's growing blackout on news from Iraq?"
The Corporate Conservative Media plays hardball when their journalists go outside of the established narrative and dare to criticize the Ministry of Information, a.k.a. the Mainstream Media.

A good thing the Corporate Conservative Media is made up of nice, happy "liberals" because one would think that the media journalists were taking sides in the general election with John "The Straight Talker" McSame against that scary black Barack Obama.

From the page: "MATTHEWS ATTACKS!
I didn't know much about Chris Matthews before I started working on this video for our friends at Media Matters. I don't have cable, so most of what I knew of Matthews was from clips on Crooks & Liars, which usually highlighted some ridiculous, silly, or clueless thing Matthews had said. For the most part, he seemed to me like a friendly, if sometimes goofy, newsguy with an annoying voice. Even his past and recent sexism seemed more like something you'd expect from your nice friend who sometimes makes people laugh semi-uncomfortably by being mildly offensive, especially when drunk. It's not the best thing in the world, but not that big of a deal.
But I think I might've been wrong.
I started watching clips of Matthews and I soon came to a very disturbing conclusion: Chris Matthews is the friendlier, smarter version of Bill O'Reilly."
