The Washington Post has some of the dumbest hacks working in the Corporate Conservative Media today. And to think that this is the paper that broke Watergate and helped to bring about the end of the Nixon administration.
The WaPo has to continue to obfuscate and mislead its' readers because if said readers come to the correct conclusion, that the WaPo, NYT, and other supposed "liberal" newspapers helped to lead us into an illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq, then they might lose even more readers.
Profits before truth is the capitalist way.

To continue to think that there is, or even ever was, a "liberal" news media is a pretty good sign that one isn't dealing with reality and you shouldn't be taken seriously.

From the page: "A journalist's twin points of references should be the real and the important. But for months the focus of the election coverage was on trivia. Every insignificant detail got blown out of proportion, with every chipmunk becoming a Godzilla. According to a report by the Project for Excellence in Journalism, over 60 percent of election coverage by the US media has been focused on campaign strategies, tactics or personalities -- but not on actual political content."
You go to the voting booth with the "information" the Corporate Conservative Media gives you.

From the page: "The one explanation I've come up with as to why Salon continues to publish Camille Paglia is that she (probably) brings a lot of traffic. Paglia is beloved by the far right, and for excellent reasons. Her good buddy Matt Drudge always links to her Salon column, and I'm sure that brings a lot of readers. "
And that, in a nutshell, is why there was ever any semblance of relevance to anything some nincompoop like Camille Paglia has ever said or written. ,

From the page: "What we have here, fellow citizens, is a crassly egocentric, raving twit. The Norman Podhoretz of our gender. That this woman is actually taken seriously as a thinker in New York intellectual circles is a clear sign of decandence, decay, and hopeless pinheadedness. Has no one in the nation's intellectual capital the background and ability to see through a web of categorical assertions? One fashionable line of response to Paglia is to claim that even though she may be fundamentally off-base, she has ``flashes of brilliance.'' If so, I missed them in her oceans of swill."
Molly Ivins on Camille Paglia. Man, I miss Molly Ivins. She was one of the very few Texans who ever made any sense.
